Deer Park lies midway between St. Helena and Angwin, about 4 miles east of St. Helena in the HowellDeer Park (St. Helena Hospital & Health Center)--click for larger photograph Mountains. Originally Deer Park was mainly a residential community for workers at the St. Helena Hospital and Adventist Health Center. Deer Park has become more than that, offering an excellent location and spectacular views for anyone choosing to live in the Napa Valley. The hospital, positioned on a hillside, offers a wonderful view of the Pratt Valley and Glass Mountain. Several wineries have established themselves in Deer Park.
Deer Park is served by a volunteer fire department. The Napa Country Sheriff and California Highway Patrol service the community.
One private elementary school--the Foothills Elementary School is run by the Seventh-day Adventists.
Services and Shopping St. Helena Hospital offers health services and emergency medical treatment. The hospital also has a pharmacy Deer Park and Pratt Valley--click for larger photographand gift shop. For grocery shopping, one must travel either to Angwin or St. Helena. For items such as clothing and household goods, one must do the same as above.
Home repair services such as carpenters, plumbers, or appliance repair are available either locally or from other service centers. Consult the Yellow Pages for more information. For television or VCR repair local repair centers are limited and a trip either to Santa Rosa or Napa is required.
Deer Park has its own local branch of the U.S. Postal Service.
Television--Deer Park has cable service, but many TV stations can be received by antenna. For a greater selection a dish and dish service are required.
Entertainment Plan on traveling to other communities for entertainment. Sometimes the FoothillsDeer Park and Pratt Valley--click for larger photograph Elementary School will have an event or the Elmshaven Seventh-day Adventist Church will plan something. These are usually held at the Community Hall.
